Quality is of utmost importance to us. It is why we don’t franchise our antenatal course, why we have a strict recruitment and selection process, why we are accredited, quality assured and insured: why everything we do, we do properly.
In order to retain fidelity to our model we have a strict certification journey that results in our Parentskool teachers receiving their Parentskool Antenatal Teacher Certificate. We have appropriate and adequate insurance that covers both employers and public liability as well as professional indemnity insurance. All our teachers are DBS (formerly CRB) checked. Unlike other antenatal classes we have a fully standardised antenatal course with clearly defined and structured learning materials and detailed trainer notes. All attendees receive excellent learning materials in the form of our Guide to Having a Baby. We also have clear policies and procedures for safeguarding, health and safety, ethics and much more.
We are happy to announce our latest accreditation: the Department of Health CANparent Quality Mark. We are the ONLY antenatal class in the country that has received this accreditation. The mark shows that our “0 to 6 months crash course in having a baby”:
- Is relied on by parents to make a positive difference, it is evidence based, monitored and evaluated to improve parent / child relationships;
- Is recommended by other parents;
- Is responsive, warm and relational, engaging with parents and builds on these effective relationships to meet their needs;
- And that you can rely on the integrity of the class provider, our professional conduct, competence, financial and governance systems, and data protection/confidentiality, to ensure suitability to deliver a class.
Our antenatal classes are (we think – let us know if we are wrong) the ONLY University Quality Assured antenatal classes in the country. To be able to tell our customers and our teachers that our course is of University standard, and quality assured by senior academics from the School of Nursing & Midwifery as well as various Lecturers and Academics from the University of Brighton is a great source of pride!
